BRICS Summit 2024: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kazan, Russia, to attend the BRICS summit. Today a historic meeting will be held in the city of Kazan. The eyes of the entire world, including the United States and Western countries, are on this meeting. At the meeting, the heads of state of the two giant Asian countries will hold a formal conversation after five years. A bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be held today. Considering the situation prevailing across the world, this meeting is considered very important in many ways.

Modi-Jinping met in 2019

Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping had earlier clashed at the BRICS summit held in Brazil in 2019. After this, both leaders will meet during the BRICS conference to be held in Russia in 2024. The Secretary Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vikram Misri, confirmed the bilateral talks that will be held between the two leaders at a press conference in the Russian city of Kazan.

Agreement reached between India and China

It is worth noting that this meeting is taking place between the two countries after the agreement reached between India and China on patrolling on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The military standoff that has been going on between India and China in eastern Ladakh for the past few years seems to be coming to an end. China has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with India to end the standoff between the two armies in eastern Ladakh.

There was tension after the Galwan clash.

Let us tell you that on June 15 and 16, 2020, soldiers from India and China came face to face in the Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh. There was a violent clash between both sides, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred, while more than 40 Chinese soldiers were also killed. However, the People’s Liberation Army has not officially confirmed the deaths of its soldiers to date. Four years after this incident, India and China have taken steps forward to end the stalemate, resulting in an agreement between the two countries.

Does Five Eyes have the answer?

It is also worth noting that Canada has been continuously hurling baseless accusations against India for the past few days. In this, many Five Eyes countries, including the United States, also take their side. This meeting between Jinping and Prime Minister Modi is also seen as a strong response against the Five Eyes Group. Five Eyes can be understood as a group formed by five countries to spy around the world. These five countries share among themselves the inputs received from espionage. This club includes the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain.
