A South trade tracker revealed in an earlier post that the promotional shoot of the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed film is likely to take place on December 5 and the makers will release it on his birthday. The makers of Rajinikanth’s second film Coolie are also trying to create something special for the fans of the film Thalaivar, which is releasing on his birthday. This means fans should be prepared for a double treat this December.

While Coolie is an independent film, Jailer 2 is the sequel to Rajinikanth’s hit 2023 crime thriller. The actor played the role of a retired police officer in the film and grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide in its lifetime, becoming one of the biggest hits in Tamil Nadu and in the superstar’s long career. It also featured Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu and Vasanth Ravi, among others, in important roles. Meanwhile, Coolie Superstar will have another summer release. It is an action thriller that features a stellar star cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahid, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaran in pivotal roles. The makers are yet to announce the official release date of the film, but it is expected to hit the screens in the first half of 2025.
