Last week, an Indian Navy submarine and a fishing boat collided in the sea northwest of Goa. After this collision, 11 people on board the fishing boat were successfully rescued. At the same time, two people had disappeared. Since then, a search operation has been carried out for both. Now the bodies of both have been recovered from the Arabian Sea, near the coast of Goa.

What was the whole incident?

The fishing boat was called Marthoma and had a crew of 13 people. Marthoma collided with an Indian Navy submarine 70 nautical miles off the coast of Goa. Eleven people were saved and a large-scale rescue operation was launched to save two. However, the lives of both could not be saved. The bodies of both crew members were recovered from the seabed near the ship’s wreckage on Thursday in a joint operation by the Navy, Indian Coast Guard and ONGC.

Bodies found near sunken ship

A Navy official said the Indian Navy and Coast Guard jointly carried out a week-long search operation. The remains of the ship were later discovered. With the help of ONGC, the bodies of two crew members were found near the wreckage of the boat. These bodies are being handed over to the authorities.

A major rescue operation was launched to search for the two crew members of the fishing boat Marthoma. Additional resources including Coast Guard were dispatched for rescue in coordination with MRCC (Mumbai). The Navy had said the cause of the incident would be investigated. (input language)
