A young man, who had come to Kanpur to appear for the assistant locomotive pilot’s exam, had both his legs amputated after being hit by a train. The young man had come to Kanpur from Prayagraj with his friend to appear in the newspaper. They both took their respective exams during the day and were heading home in the evening when suddenly a young man’s foot slipped and fell under the train. After the incident, the young man was immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. At the same time, the friend had informed the injured friend’s family.

Amit and Amardeep were waiting for the train at platform number 5. The Rajdhani train from Delhi to Ranchi reached platform number 5 around 9 pm. There were many people on the train. Both people began to board the train. Meanwhile the train began to move. Amit boarded the train, but Amardeep’s foot slipped and he got stuck between the train and the platform. During this time, both legs suffered cuts due to the friction of the train. GRP and Railway officials immediately reached the spot.
