Chandigarh News|Derabassi: An Activa driver was hit by an unknown vehicle while climbing the railway bridge from the service road between Derabassi flyover and railway bridge on Ambala Chandigarh Expressway. He died instantly. The deceased has been identified as Amarjeet, 35, a resident of Bihar, Bishanpura, Zirakpur. The police are waiting for his relatives to contact Derabassi before registering the case.
According to information, Amarjeet Kanojia works as a painter. He was returning from Derabassi to Zirakpur in his Activa. Last night, around 12:30 a.m., as soon as I entered the highway from the service road, I was hit from behind by a stranger who was speeding. Although he had a helmet, it was reported that he was not wearing one. He was left unconscious due to a deep head wound. By the time he was taken to Derabassi Civil Hospital, he had already died. ASI Satveer Singh of Derabassi police said that after the arrival of the deceased’s family members, further action will be taken as per their statement. However, the body has remained in the hospital mortuary before the autopsy.
