In 2021, constable Anil Kumar had accused the then SP Chandauli Amit Kumar II and 18 other police officers of corruption, including illegal extortion. The matter was investigated by DIG Vigilance Luv Kumar and the allegations were found to be true. There is also an allegation that on February 28, 2021, the SP had sacked constable Amit Kumar. Anil Kumar also alleges that on September 5, 2021, the police had kidnapped him with the intention of murdering him, when his daughter informed 112 that he saved her life.
