BMW motorcycles: As soon as the new year begins, automobile companies have begun to announce one after another increases in the prices of their vehicles. Joining the trend, German manufacturer BMW’s two-wheeler BMW Motorrad on Friday announced that it will increase prices of its entire model range by up to 2.5 percent from January 1, 2025. According to PTI News , the company said this price change is due to rising overall input costs and inflationary pressure.
Why will the price increase?
The company reportedly said that this decision will help ensure higher standards of excellence and profitability for BMW Motorrad in terms of quality, performance and brand experience. BMW Motorrad officially began operations as the Indian subsidiary of the BMW Group in April 2017. The brand sells several premium motorcycles and scooters in the country, including the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS, as well as other two-wheelers.
BMW and Mercedes-Benz announce price increases
BMW India has already announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent across its vehicle range from January next year. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz India also announced a 3 per cent hike in the prices of its vehicles in India, starting next month. At the end of the year, most companies announce price increases for the new year. In addition to these brands, other car companies are expected to announce price hikes in the coming days. Most companies attribute the rise in these prices to rising input costs.
