Congress’s 100 per cent strike rate in Lok Sabha by-elections, towards a clean sweep

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Along with the elections to the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assemblies, by-elections were also held for 2 Lok Sabha seats. In these, votes were cast at the Wayanad seat in Kerala and at the Nanded seat in Maharashtra. While the Congress has suffered a major setback in the initial trends in Maharashtra, it seems to be doing well in the Lok Sabha by-elections.

Priyanka Gandhi ahead in Wayanad

Talking about Wayanad seat, Rahul Gandhi was the MP from here. It had won seats in Rae Bareli and Wayanad during the Lok Sabha elections. After this, Rahul kept the Rae Bareli seat with himself and sent his sister Priyanka to the Wayanad seat. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is contesting her first election, has gained a huge lead in this seat.

Congress also holds Nanded seat

Congress candidate Ravindra Vasantrao Chavan is also leading from Nanded seat in Maharashtra. His race is against BJP candidate Santukrao Marotrao. This seat is vacant due to the death of Congress MP Vasantrao Chavan. Congress has sent its son from here.
