According to Drik Panchang, the Darsh Amavasya Tithi month of Margashirsha will begin at 10.29 am on November 30. While Amavasya Tithi will end on December 1 at 11:50 am. In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, Darsh Amavasya will be celebrated only on Saturday, November 30. November 30 will be the Shraddha and Tarpan day of the ancestors. At the same time, December 1, i.e. Margashirsha Amavasya till 11 am, will be an auspicious time for charity and bathing in Ganges. Therefore, different tasks related to Amavasya can be done on both days this time.
Method to please ancestors on Darsh Amavasya
- Get up early in the morning and bathe with Ganges water on this day to achieve purity.
- On this day, remember your ancestors and pray for the peace of their souls.
- The Peepal tree is considered the abode of the ancestors. Offer water over it, light a lamp and offer incense.
- Take water in a bowl and add black sesame seeds, kush, Ganges water and few drops of milk. Face south and offer prayers on behalf of your ancestors.
- Performing Shraddha on this day is considered the best way to satisfy the ancestors.
- Donate food, clothing, etc. to the poor the day of Amavasya is considered very auspicious.
- On the day of Amavasya, light a ghee lamp at night and let it float in a river or pond.
