New Delhi. Sad news is coming from Bajali district and Dhubri districts of Assam. Eight people were killed and three seriously injured in two separate traffic accidents here on Saturday.
Police said these people were returning to their home in Nalbari after observing Raas Utsav in Bajali district, when their van collided with a truck in Bhawanipur. Due to this, five people died on the spot. While two injured have been admitted to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital and their condition is said to be critical.
The deceased have been identified as Ashish Habib Khan, Mizanur Rehman, Royal Khan, Mizanur Khan and Moinul Haq. Police said the injured have been identified as Aamir Khan and Qazi Chakra Ahmed.
In another accident, three people were killed and one seriously injured when a vehicle collided with a parked truck near Garehat in Agomoni area of Dhubri district. In the accident that took place in Dhubri, these people were on their way from Gauripur to visit the Raas fair held in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, when three people died on the spot in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Dhananjay Roy, Bikash Kalita and Ram Roy, while the injured Khanindra Roy is currently undergoing treatment at Dhubri Medical College Hospital.
