Mumbai The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections have become almost clear. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is leading with over 200 seats and is set to retain power in the state. The BJP, which leads in only 127 seats, has created a lot of buzz around the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP is said to have become fully active after the electoral trends in Maharashtra. Amit Shah himself has taken command into his own hands. It is said that apart from Devendra Fadnavis, Amit Shah also spoke to Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for 25-25 minutes.
This clearly means that somewhere in Maharashtra the race for the Chief Minister’s post seems to be important. He is one of the leading candidates for the post of Chief Minister. It is speculated that Devendra Fadnavis could become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The BJP chief reportedly met Fadnavis, further intensifying the debate over his candidacy for the top job. Fadnavis is considered to be the favorite in the race for the Chief Minister’s post. In support of this, Fadnavis’ close aide and BJP MLC Prasad Lad has said that Fadnavis should play this role.
Referring to him as a crusader, Lad highlighted Fadnavis’ leadership qualities and his suitability for the position. BJP spokesperson Praveen Darekar said Devendra Fadnavis is likely to be the next chief minister of the state. Praveen Darekar said that if there is a BJP government at the center and in the state, then Maharashtra will develop further, for which the people have given us the majority, for this I especially thank the dear sisters and the people of the state. He said that the Chief Minister will be only from the BJP, I think Devendra Fadnavis will be the CM.
Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said let the final results come. Then, just as we fought the elections together, similarly the three parties will sit together and decide who will be the CM. As of the time of writing the news, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance was leading with 218 seats and was heading towards a big victory. While the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is faltering and its candidates are leading with just 56 seats as per initial trends.
With the BJP leading the majority of seats within the grand alliance, it is widely anticipated that the party will claim the chief minister’s post in Maharashtra. Reports suggest that BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will take up the role of chief minister, strengthening the party’s leadership in the state. However, this is yet to be officially confirmed nor has the BJP made any announcement. But the commotion at Devendra Fadnavis’ house and the BJP president’s visit to meet him have become a topic of discussion in political circles. It remains to be seen what decision the high command makes.
