Karnal News (Aaj Samaj) Karnal: Due to the implementation of Uva-4 in the district, the Municipal Corporation has increased the rigor. Various teams of the corporation visit their respective areas and impose fines on those who pollute. In this series, a total of 37 challans were issued by the Municipal Corporation and a fine of Rs 3 lakh 57 thousand was imposed. This information was provided by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma. He said that the Municipal Corporation is determined to ensure that the environment is free of pollution and to this end the Corporation’s teams are monitoring.
He said that various teams of the corporation are visiting their respective areas daily to curb such activities and notices are also being posted. The Municipal Commissioner said that several teams of Engineer Brigade visited the affected area and handed out challans to those who violated the norms of the National Green Tribunal and the Central and State Pollution Control Board. The municipal commissioner appealed to the city residents and said that due to the increasing problem of pollution, Grape-4 has been implemented in the district. Because of this, there is a ban on some things except essential services. He said citizens should cooperate with the Municipal Corporation to make the city pollution-free.

He said that under this, 27 challans and a fine of Rs 2 lakh 97 thousand have been imposed on those who constructed open-air buildings. On the other hand, 5 challans and a fine of Rs 35,000 have been imposed on several hotel and dhaba operators for using DG generators/sets against the norms. On the other hand, he said burning of tandoor has also been banned in hotels and dhabas in the city. But there are still people who violate the rules. Five dhaba operators who did this have been reported and fined Rs 25,000.
