BJP alliance wins majority in Maharashtra
The Mahayuti alliance took the lead with 218 seats
Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is reduced to 49 seats
Maharashtra Assembly Results: (Aaj Samaj) Mumbai: Counting of votes for all 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly continues at 8 am. Going by the trends, the BJP alliance seems to get an absolute majority. The Mahayuti alliance leads with 218 seats. While the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance seems to be limited to 49 seats. At the beginning of the counting of votes, the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance seemed to be giving a tough competition to the BJP alliance.
But after a while the tables completely turned. The Mahayuti alliance took the lead with over 200 seats. Seeing the Mahayuti alliance getting majority, Chief Minister CM Shinde thanked the people of Maharashtra. He said the next CM will be decided by the three parties (BJP + Shiv Sena-Shinde + NCCI-Ajit) together. Devendra Fadnavis wrote on social media that if he is, then he is safe.
