While campaigning for the Meerapur by-election on Saturday, former Union minister Sanjeev Balyan lashed out at fraternity (caste) contractors. Addressing a public meeting in Chhachhrauli village, he said, ‘When I was elected to the Lok Sabha, even during that time contractors in the communities had become active. He had issued orders in small panchayats not to vote for the BJP and make the Samajwadi Party win. Now these contractors have become active in Meerapur. They are all paid contractors and when elections come, they are hired as contract workers. The people of Meerapur will have to stay away from them.
Sanjeev Balyan said that these caste organizations will have to be expelled from Muzaffarnagar district and thrown into the Ganga. He said that those who talk about caste will have to be expelled from Muzaffarnagar, only then this district will remain peaceful. The former MP from Muzaffarnagar said that due to contractors from these communities, first the BJP lost the Lok Sabha elections and now they have started working for the opposition in the by-elections in Meerapur. It is necessary to teach them a lesson, for which the best way is the power of the vote.

Sanjeev Baliyan said that people will have to wake up and think why these people are not talking about caste after the elections are over. He said that Mithlesh Pal is the candidate of Sarva Samaj in this election. Why don’t everyone unite and make them participate in the elections? Look at the qualities of our candidate Mithilesh Pal, look at the party, look at the NDA, but where does this caste come from? Let us tell you that in Meerapur by-election, leaders of Jat, Saini, Pal and many other communities were in the queue to get NDA candidature but finally Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary nominated Mithlesh Pal your candidate here.

Opposition parties want to take advantage of this. Therefore, the caste system is emerging as a big issue in these by-elections. Countering Sanjeev Balyan’s statement, Samajwadi Party MLA Pankaj Malik said, ‘Public has its own right in elections. We go among the public and appeal. People vote according to their wish. In the Lok Sabha elections, the people of Muzaffarnagar elected SP candidate Harendra Malik. I don’t understand who Sanjeev Baliyan is and who he calls a contractor. People have their own decision in democracy. You should vote for whoever you want. Let us tell you that the SP has named Sumbul Rana, daughter-in-law of former MP Kadir Rana, its candidate in the Meerapur by-election.
