PM Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis.
After Mahayuti’s landslide victory in the Maharashtra elections, speculations about the CM have started. After CM Ek Nath Shinde’s statement on who will be the CM, there are more speculations, in fact CM Shinde himself has said that the face of the CM has not been decided yet, whoever has more seats will be the CM. On the other hand, Devendra Fadnavis has also said that there is no dispute over CM’s face. Senior leaders will decide who will occupy the CM chair.
The credit for the excellent victory of the Maharashtra Mahayuti alliance goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis. It is currently believed that BJP may reap the rewards of having the highest strike rate in the alliance and Fadnavis may be crowned CM. However, this is not so easy. From the indications given so far, it is said that the CM will take a decision in this regard after the three-day meeting.
What did CM Ek Nath Shinde say?
On the issue of CM’s post after the landslide victory, CM Ek Nath Shinde has said that whoever has more seats will be the CM. In this context, Fadnavis has the biggest claim because the BJP has the best strike rate on the basis of victory in the Mahayuti alliance. However, after some time, another statement from Shinde left many questions, in which Shinde said that it was a landslide victory. Mahayuti won an excellent victory. Thanks to all parties in the alliance for this. These three parties together will decide who will be the CM. However, his son Shrikant Shinde has demanded that his father be CM.
Will Fadnavis get the reward for his hard work?
Fadnavis started his political journey in ABVP and later became the youngest mayor of Nagpur. He was rewarded for his loyalty and hard work towards the party and became one of those who became CM of the BJP. Amid growing unrest in the state after the 2019 assembly elections, Fadnavis remained busy strengthening the party. After breaking alliance with Shiv Sena, he became CM for a few days. When the political situation changed, his government fell, Fadnavis brought Nath Shinde and appointed him CM and he himself accepted the post of deputy CM. Now Fadnavis has given a big victory to the BJP in Maharashtra. After this it is said that this time Fadnavis is the real contender for the CM post.
Demand to manufacture Fadnavis CM started increasing
After the victory in Maharashtra, the stir in the NDA has increased. NCP leader Praful Patel reached Ajit Pawar’s house while many senior BJP leaders including Piyush Goyal also reached Fadnavis’ house. On the other hand, BJP leader Praveen Darekar has clearly demanded that Fadnavis be the CM. He has said that the State will progress only when there is a BJP government like the Centre. He even claimed that the CM would be solely from the BJP. Apart from this, Fadnavis’ mother Sarita Fadnavis also congratulated her son and said that her son has become a great leader in the state. He works hard 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He will become the Chief Minister.
Fadnavis said: I am the modern Abhimanyu, I have penetrated Chakravyuh.
Apart from giving credit for the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Fadnavis also says that I am a modern Abhimanyu, I have penetrated the Chakravyuh. He also said that this is a victory for unity. We have received the blessings of the saints. Our leaders have worked not only for the BJP but also in friendly seats. However, when asked by CM, he says that there is no dispute. Amit Shah has already said that the CM’s decision will be taken after the elections. Senior leaders will decide this.
Fadnavis’s path is not easy
Of course, the BJP is the party that has won the most seats in Maharashtra, so Fadnavis has the greatest claim to the CM’s post, but his path is not easy. The main reason for this is CM Nath Shinde. In fact, Shinde attributes the victory in Maharashtra to the government’s two-and-a-half-year rule. In such a situation, you can also negotiate with the BJP about it. By linking his not being made CM with the Shiv Sena’s self-respect, he can make a case to the BJP that workers will be angry if he is not made CM and this will have an impact on the upcoming elections. Apart from this, Shinde can also raise the issue of breaking with Shiv Sena, because Shinde had broken with Shiv Sena only to gain power in Maharashtra.
Historic victory, but far from the majority
There is an internal conflict in the BJP regarding the CM’s face because despite the historic victory, the BJP is far from being in the majority. In fact, of the grand alliance that is winning around 220 seats, the BJP seems to win around 124 seats, while to be a majority it needs to win 145 seats. In such a situation, if the BJP announces to make him its CM, it will need the consent of its allies. If Shinde gets angry with this decision of the BJP and walks away from the government, then the BJP can run the government with the trust of Ajit Pawar, but Pawar is not trustworthy. It has been around three times in the last 5 years. In such a situation, it will be necessary for BJP to get Shinde’s consent to appoint Fadnavis as CM.
