One seat went to Congress
MP Raja Vading and Sukhjinder Randhawa’s wife lost the elections.
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: The results of voting for four Punjab Assembly seats are out today. The ruling party, the Aam Aadmi Party, fared better in the by-elections with four seats and won three seats. One seat has gone to Congress, the main opposition party. While the BJP is empty-handed. The BJP candidate did not contest even one of the four seats.
The main contest for the four seats was between the AAP and the Congress. The AAP won 3-1. The Aam Aadmi Party won Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur district, Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district and Giddarbaha seat in Muktsar. Kuldeep Singh Kala Dhillon of Congress won from Barnala seat. Recording Giddarbaha’s victory, AAP’s Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon said that the victory he won is the result of hard work of the workers. Meanwhile, from Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat, AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa defeated Congress MP Jatinder Kaur Randhawa’s wife.
The Congress candidate left the counting center before the recount was completed.
In Chabbewal, AAP candidate Ishank Kumar defeated MP Ranjit Kumar by 28,690 votes. Seeing the situation of defeat, Congress candidate Ranjit Kumar left the counting center. While Ludhiana Congress MP Raja Vading and Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Randhawa’s wife lost the elections.
