Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Counting of votes for the by-elections held in four assembly seats in Punjab is taking place today. The AAP has won two out of four seats. Aam Aadmi Party leads with 1 seat. The congressional candidate leads in one seat. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ishank Kumar won from Chabbewal assembly seat in Hoshiarpur district. Ishank Kumar defeated Congress candidate Ranjit Kumar by more than 28 thousand votes. The Congress candidates left the counting center even before the voting was over. The AAP candidate also won the Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat.
While in Gidderbaha the AAP candidate is ahead. In second place is Amrita Wadding, wife of Punjab Congress chief and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding. In third place is the state’s two-time Finance Minister Manpreet Badal, who is contesting the elections on the BJP ticket. Kuldeep Singh Kala Dhillon of Congress won from Barnala by 2,175 votes. The BJP does not have a single seat.
