New Delhi. The first week of the winter session of Parliament, which began on November 25, was marked by upheaval. During the tenure of previous NDA governments, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were lost in the noise; This time the Chambers were suspended a few minutes after their start.
In this way, Congress has cornered the Government with the postponement of Parliament for the fourth consecutive time. Congress has raised the question of why the government is not opposed to the postponement. On the other hand, the ruling party blames the opposition for the poor functioning of the House. At the same time, many leaders of the Indian opposition alliance now say that the government itself is increasing the aggression of political parties on many issues. In fact, the winter session of Parliament, which began on Monday, is not running continuously. There is a continuous uproar from the opposition in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha regarding the allegations against Adani and the Sambal violence. Due to this, Parliament debates were postponed for the fourth time in a row on Friday.
Why the government is not opposed to the postponement: Jairam
The Congress general secretary said in a Twitter post that debates could not be held in Parliament for another day on the Adani issue. Even today, the proceedings of both houses were suspended within a few minutes. The biggest mystery is why the government is not opposing the postponement? The government encourages aggression by Indian parties in this matter. Obviously the government has a lot to defend and apologize for.
Pursuant to Rule 267, 17 adjournment motions were presented to the President.
Earlier, opposition MPs moved adjournment motions in both houses regarding the allegations against Adani Group, Manipur and Sambhal violence. After this, the proceedings of both houses were suspended for the entire day. Now the House will begin on Monday. Earlier, Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar received 17 adjournment motions under rule number 267 in Rajya Sabha. On this, Dhankhar said he rejects all proposals. The opposition started creating a ruckus over it. The President expressed his deep displeasure at this and stated that Regulation no. 267 has become a weapon of destruction. This is causing enormous losses to the people and the country.
The Speaker asks that Parliament be allowed to operate
The Lok Sabha proceedings also remained turbulent on Friday. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla continuously urged the members to conduct the proceedings of the House smoothly. At the same time, members of the opposition parties did not listen to him and continued the uproar. The Lok Sabha Speaker said there should be discussion and dialogue. Consent and disagreement are the strengths of our democracy. He urged the members of the Lok Sabha to cooperate in the functioning of the House according to the sentiments, hopes and aspirations of the people. Today in question time an important topic related to women is debated. Question time is your time. The people of the country continually express their opinion about the honorable deputies. Therefore, I urge you to let the House function. He told members that the House is theirs, the House is everyone’s. The country also wants Parliament to function.
