News from Ghaziabad, (Aaj Samaj), New Delhi: A boy who was abducted at the age of seven from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, adjacent to the country’s capital Delhi, has returned home after 31 years. His name is Raju and he is now 37 years old. Narrating his ordeal, Raju said he was kidnapped on September 8, 1993 when he and his sister were returning home from school.
Kidnappers had sent him to Rajasthan: Raju
A police report was filed, but the child could not be located. Raju said his kidnappers had sent him to Rajasthan. He lived in Jaisalmer for many years. The victim said that they forced him to work, beat him daily and kept him in inhumane conditions. There was only one roti available in the evening. At night they tied him up so he couldn’t escape.
