Jewelers accused of negligence in theft case
Rewari News (Aaj Samaj) Rewari: The district SP has issued orders to suspend the police station in charge of Bawal, City, Model Town and Rohdai. Panic reigns in the police department following the SP’s order to simultaneously suspend the SHOs of four police stations. This is the first case where SHOs of four police stations have been suspended simultaneously. This action was taken against the four SHOs due to their negligence in the jewelers robbery case in Rewari.
The SHOs who have been suspended include Bawal police station inspector-in-charge Inspector Lajpat, city police station inspector-in-charge Surendra Singh, Model Town police station inspector-in-charge Mukesh Chand and Inspector-in-charge of Rohdai police station, Bhagwat Prasad. After the suspension, the headquarters of the four inspectors will be Police Lines Rewari. SP Gaurav Rajpurohit also ordered a departmental inquiry against the four. DSP headquarters will investigate this. Before suspending the four, a show-cause notice was issued for their negligence in this case, but except Rohrai police station in-charge Bhagwat Prasad, the SHOs of the three police stations did not respond.
The robbery occurred on November 11.
It is worth noting that on November 11, at around quarter to 12 in the morning, three armed criminals carried out a robbery at Komal Jewelers in Katla Bazaar in Bawal town in Rewari. The criminal had looted 50 grams of gold, one kilogram of silver and 30,000 rupees in cash. The miscreants also fired two rounds of bullets, one of which hit showroom owner Pritam Soni’s son Harendra. The investigation found that after committing the aforementioned robbery, the criminals fled on a bicycle passing through the jurisdiction of the four Inspector/SHO police stations. They showed gross negligence in arresting the criminals by establishing nakas on time as per the sealing plan.
