Counting of votes for 288 Maharashtra Assembly seats and 81 Jharkhand Assembly seats has begun. Voting was held in Jharkhand on November 13 and 20, while the people of Maharashtra sealed the fate of the candidates in the EVMs on November 20. More than Mahayuti against Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) and the India Block against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), these elections will be for Shiv Sena (Shinde)-Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar)-Party of the Nationalist Congress (Ajit Pawar) in Maharashtra is considered a fight between the real and the fake.
In these elections, not only the credibility of Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis is at stake, but also the reputation of influential political families of the state will be decided by the public court. There is a similar story in Jharkhand too. Apart from testing issues ranging from tribal identity to infiltration and demographic change in the state, this term will also decide the political direction of the Soren family.
1- thackeray family
The Thackeray family has been among the most influential political families in Maharashtra. This is the first assembly election for Uddhav Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, after the party lost its name. For Uddhav Thackeray, this election is an opportunity to prove that he is the true heir to Bal Thackeray’s legacy, while for Eknath Shinde it is also an opportunity to prove that he is the ideological heir.
Bal Thackeray’s nephew Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party is also in the fray. This is the first time in this election that two members of the Thackeray family are contesting. Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray is trying to make it to the assembly from Worli assembly seat for the second consecutive time, while Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray is also in the fray. Amit Thackeray is contesting from Mahim assembly seat.
In Mahim seat, the BJP had supported Amit Thackeray despite him being the candidate of its ally Shiv Sena (Shinde). There are three armies in the assembly elections and the battle between the three armies is also considered a battle to prove that one is the true heir of Bal Thackeray’s political legacy. The mandate will decide who will be strong and who will be weak among Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde and Raj Thackeray.
2- Pawar family
These election results will also be important for Maratha Satrap Sharad Pawar and the Pawar family. Ajit Pawar had rebelled against his uncle and joined the Mahayuti with 40 MLAs. After the split of the NCP into NCP (SP) and NCP (AP), the first assembly elections will also decide who is the power center of the Pawar family.

Whether the public is with Sharad Pawar or Ajit Pawar, the mandate is also considered important in this regard. Sharad Pawar’s party had defeated Ajit Pawar in the Lok Sabha elections. Sharad Pawar has fielded his nephew Yugendra Pawar against Ajit Pawar in the Baramati seat. Rohit Pawar is also in the election fray. Three members of the Pawar family from two parties are trying their luck.
3- world family
The Munde family has also dominated Maharashtra politics. Gopinath Munde was among the powerful leaders of the BJP. He himself was a minister at the Center and was once considered a strong candidate in the party for the Chief Minister’s post. Daughter Pankaja Munde from Gopinath Munde’s family has also been a minister. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had fielded Pankaja Munde from Gopinath Munde’s Karmabhoomi Beed seat, but he lost. Now, in the assembly elections, Pankaja’s cousin Dhananjay Munde is contesting for a Parli assembly seat on the NCP (AP) ticket. The results from the Parli seat are considered important from the point of view of the political influence of the Munde family.
4- chaván family
Ashok Chavan, a prominent leader from the Marathwada region, has been the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Ashok Chavan had left the Congress and joined the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections. The results from Nanded, dominated by Ashok Chavan, are considered important for the political future of the Chavan family. Ashok Chavan’s father Shankarrao Chavan was also a veteran Congress leader and was also the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. This time the new generation of the Chavan family also debuts. Ashok Chavan’s daughter Shreejaya Chavan is contesting on the BJP ticket from Bhokar seat in Nanded.
5- hurting family
From the movement demanding the formation of the state of Jharkhand to the politics after the formation of the state, the Soren family has been dominant. The dominance of the Soren family in Jharkhand politics can also be gauged from the fact that the state, which recently turned 24, has had 13 Chief Ministers and out of these 13, the Soren family has served as Chief Minister 6 times. .
