A fight broke out between actor and director
The long-running controversy in the Odia film industry has taken a new turn. What happened between Odia film director Bobby Islam and actor Manoj Mishra in front of the DCP’s office in Bhubaneswar has created a sensation among the film industry and the Odia film audience. Manoj Mishra and Bobby Islam clashed outside the DCP’s office in Bhubaneswar. On Friday, the police had called both of them to the Bhubaneswar DCP office to resolve the already existing issue between them, but instead of being resolved, the matter took a turn for the worse.
There was a fight between the actor and the director over the film.
This whole thing is related to the name of a movie. Manoj Mishra started expressing his objections regarding the name of that film on different social media platforms. Actually, there is a word in the name of the film which is considered a curse in Hindi, but in Odia language it means widow. Manoj has been demanding for many days to change the name of the film so that people do not know the meaning of the Hindi word used in the Odia film. Recently, director Bobby Islam used that “controversial word” for Manoj on social media, which further angered Manoj Mishra and he filed a complaint against director Bobby Islam.
Director received death threats
Bobby Islam also lodged a complaint at the Dargah Bazaar police station in Cuttack on November 13 for receiving death threats through WhatsApp calls. The caller identified himself as a Manoj Mishra supporter. Bobby said in the complaint that if anything bad happens to him, Manoj Mishra and his team will be responsible for it. Earlier, on November 12, a complaint was lodged against Manoj Mishra at the cyber police station. This complaint was filed by the Odisha Film and Television Directors Association regarding Manoj’s statements on social media.
Ruckus outside the DCP office
The complaint alleged that it was as if Mishra was character assassinating artists and directors working in the Odia film industry. He has demanded action against the actor. Yesterday, Friday, when both parties were summoned to the DCP’s office, the atmosphere there became more heated. Bobby Islam again provoked Manoj Mishra, after which Manoj Mishra jumped on him. In the video you can clearly see that Manoj is running towards him and behind him a police officer is holding Lal Manoj tightly. The police are currently investigating the matter and discussions are ongoing with both parties. This dispute remains a topic of discussion in the Odia film industry.
