Ayodhya. A team of experts dedicated to mental health awareness, counselling, practical skills and mental empowerment of students has been formed on the Raja Mohan Girls PG College campus. This team will timely identify and provide appropriate counseling on various psychosocial problems of female students such as depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment problems, gender discrimination, teasing, family discord, inflexibility, frustration, despair, sexual harassment and other suicidal tendencies. . Crisis counseling will be provided in the proposed Man-Room for personal counseling based on the principle of sensitivity and confidentiality. Interactive sessions on current psychosocial issues, exam anxiety, stress management, life skills, etc. will also be organized at regular intervals. Dr. Alok Mandarshan, the designated psychiatrist of the team, while expressing happiness over the formation of Manucha College Mental Health Club, described this effort by the college family as a commendable step towards promoting mental health of girls and adolescents because of today’s mental problems. Healthy young people are mentally healthy. It constitutes the basis of the country. Club chief president Prof. Manjusha Mishra, nodal officer Prof. Sushma Pathak, coordinator Dr. Poonam Shukla, behavioral observers Shikha Pandey and Sanskriti Srivastava and influential peers Anjali Verma, Subhadra and Samar Jahan were nominated.
