The miracle of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500… How did money play the Congress-BJP game in Maharashtra and Jharkhand?

Eknath Shinde and Hemant Soren

Women have emerged as agents of change in Jharkhand and Maharashtra mandates. It is said that the reason for not changing governments in both states is respect for women. In Maharashtra, under these fees, Rs 1,500 per month was given and in Jharkhand, Rs 1,000 per month.

This has had a direct impact on the electoral results. It is said that the BJP could not find a solution to this plan in Jharkhand and the Congress alliance in Maharashtra failed to resolve it. An increase is also seen in the graph of Chief Ministers who implemented the plan in both states.

They were put between Rs 1500 and Rs 1500 in Maharashtra.

Under Ladki-Bahin Yojana, Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,500 were deposited in the accounts of women in Maharashtra. Before Diwali, a total of Rs 7,500 had entered the accounts of women in Maharashtra under the Samman Nidhi. Mahayuti promised to increase this amount to Rs 2,100 after coming to power.

Mahavikas Aghadi promised to send Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,000 a month, but was flatly rejected by the public. This time in Maharashtra, there was a tremendous increase in the percentage of women voters. About 4 percent more women voted. With the results in, women’s votes are now said to have been overwhelmingly in favor of Mahayuti.

It is even said that elections were proposed in Maharashtra along with Haryana in September, but due to this plan, the elections were delayed. The Congress had also targeted the Election Commission in this regard.

Women are also changing the rules of the game in Jharkhand

The trends for 81 Jharkhand assembly seats have also come. Here it is also said that women change the rules of the game. Just before the elections, Hemant Soren had founded Mayiya Samman Yojana for women in the state. Under this scheme, an amount of between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,000 was sent to each woman’s account every month.

Until the elections, at least 4 installments of this money went to women’s accounts. There was a lot of debate about this during the elections in Jharkhand. A petitioner had filed a petition in this regard in the High Court, which Hemant’s party termed as a conspiracy by the BJP.

This time women voted more than men in 68 Jharkhand assembly seats. The Kalpana effect has also been observed in Jharkhand politics. During the election campaign, the Kalpana rally had the largest crowd of people.

Status of Maharashtra and Jharkhand

The government seems to be repeating itself in both states. In Maharashtra, the NDA is well ahead of the majority mark of 145. The NDA alliance is leading with about 200 seats. Only the BJP leads with more than 125 seats. There are a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra.

If we talk about Jharkhand, the majority figure here is 41. The Hemant Soren alliance seems to be taking advantage with more than 50 seats. Soren’s party seems to become the biggest party this time too. There are a total of 81 assembly seats here. This time, the total voting percentage increased in both the states of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

The total vote share in Maharashtra increased by 4 per cent and in Jharkhand also by 3 per cent.
