On this occasion, the District Magistrate instructed all the staff to organize a field camp from December 1 and collect the details of the farmers and register them in the Agricultural Registry. During this, the district magistrate said that the purpose of preparing Bhumidhar/Database (Farmers’ Register) is to prepare a linked register on the basis of all farmers, so that planning of schemes, verification of beneficiaries, marketing of agricultural products, etc. may become more convenient. With this, the benefits of the state government-run scheme for farmers’ welfare will be available to all farmers in an easy, transparent and time-bound manner. It will be easier to identify and authenticate farmers for program benefits or other purposes. Farmers will have easy access to agricultural services such as credit, finance, inputs and other agricultural service providers. This will simplify convergence of schemes between agriculture and related departments to provide better services to the farmers of the state. This will help farmers to avail Kisan Credit Card and Agricultural Infrastructure Fund for crop loans and other agriculture development loans, get the benefit of crop insurance, fulfill the mandatory conditions for obtaining the benefit of Prime Minister Kisan Yojana and Provide compensation to farmers under disaster management. Therefore, it will be easy to identify the farmers etc. Further, registration of farmers for purchase at minimum support price will be done through online medium.
He said this will facilitate farmers to get the desired consultation opportunity on time and help them scale up innovative programmes.
In the training, E-District Director Ejaz Rasool and Assistant Statistician Harishchandra Verma provided detailed training to Agriculture Department staff, accountants and Panchayat assistants of respective tehsils on preparation of register of farmers and the deputy director provided detailed information about the plan.
