During interrogation, Faizan pleaded not guilty and said that his phone was stolen. Based on this statement, the Maharashtra Police notified Faizan and ordered him to report to Mumbai and released him. On Tuesday morning, police arrested Faizan from his house and produced him before the court. During this time, Faizan was given transit remand by the court, after which the police took him to Mumbai.
