The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win only 8 seats, while the Congress found it difficult to open its account. After the elections, the Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in the state and Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister. Kejriwal compared the upcoming Delhi elections to a “religious crusade” similar to the Mahabharata. Citing the party’s victory in the mayoral elections, he said divine forces are in favor of the AAP despite the BJP’s concerted efforts to gain control. The AAP national coordinator further enumerated the achievements of the AAP, including taking credit for the construction of 10,000 kilometers of roads in Delhi colonies.
