Both factions of the NCP will compete with each other for this position. Prakashdada Solanke is in the NCP (Ajit) election. While the NCP (SP) has fielded Mohan Bajirao Jagtap.

This time this seat has gone to NCP (Ajit) from Mahayuti quota. In the 2019 elections, Prakashdada Solanke won the elections on the joint ticket of the NCP. At the same time, after the NCP split into two factions, Prakashdada left with Ajit Pawar. Sharad Pawar’s NCP party has expressed confidence in Mohan Bajirao Jagtap.

In total ten elections have been held in this seat, which came into existence after delimitation in the year 1972. The Congress, an independent and nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has won five times, once each. While the BJP has so far won the elections for this seat thrice. An independent candidate won this seat in the 1995 elections, while the NCP won this seat in 2019. The BJP won this seat in the 2014 assembly elections. RT Deshmukh had come to the assembly after winning from here.

In the 2019 elections, on the joint NCP ticket, Prakashdada Solanke defeated BJP’s Ramesh Baburao Kokate by a margin of 12,890 votes in the Majalgaon seat. Prakashdada got 111,566 votes, while the BJP candidate got 98,676 votes. At the same time, in the 2014 elections, RT Deshmukh of the BJP defeated Prakashdada Solanke. RT Deshmukh got 112,497 votes, while Prakashdada got 75,252 votes.
