In Sisamau, counting of votes will be carried out in a minimum of 20 rounds and in Karhal, Phulpur, Kundarki and Majhwan, counting of votes will be carried out in a maximum of 32 rounds. Voting for UP by-elections took place in Katehari (Ambedkar Nagar), Karhal (Mainpuri), Mirapur (Muzaffarnagar), Ghaziabad, Majhwan (Mirzapur), Sisamau (Kanpur City), Khair (Aligarh), Phulpur (Prayagraj) and Kundarki (Moradabad).
Political competition within the family.
With this, political tension has increased regarding the Karhal Assembly by-elections as this seat is considered the stronghold of the Samajwadi Party (SP). SP chief Akhilesh Yadav himself had won this seat in 2022, but after achieving success in the Lok Sabha elections, he resigned from this seat. Now the SP has named Tej Pratap Yadav, a member of the Yadav family, its candidate for this seat, while the BJP has fielded Anujesh Yadav, son-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav and brother-in-law of Akhilesh. In this way, a political competition is taking place within the Yadav family in Karhal, which makes it even more interesting.
