Counting of votes begins in 288 Maharashtra assembly seats
Maharashtra Assembly (Aaj Samaj) Mumbai Results: After voting on November 20, counting of votes in 288 Maharashtra assembly seats began today. After some time counting begins, trends will begin to emerge as to which party will form the government in Maharashtra this time and who will sit in the opposition. The main contest in these elections is between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi.
Mahayuti includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and the NCP (Ajit Pawar), while the Mahavikas Aghadi includes the Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) and the NCP (Sharad Pawar). At the same time, out of 11 exit polls released on November 20, 6 are expected to form the BJP alliance i.e. the Mahayuti government. There is a possibility of an alliance in Congress i.e. Mahavikas Aghadi in 4 polls and Hung Assembly in one poll. This afternoon it will become clear how accurate the exit poll predictions are. Talking about counting of votes, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar is lagging behind in the counting of postal votes from Baramati seat. His nephew Yugendra Pawar is in the lead. On the other hand, Zeeshan Siddiqui is ahead of Bandra East. As per initial trends, the BJP alliance is leading with 20 seats. The Congress has an advantage with 15 seats. CM Eknath Shinde is at the helm.
