9,687 new social security cases approved in Kangra district

He said that it will be ensured that scheme boards administered by the Social Welfare Department will be set up in each Panchayat and in addition, the officials of the Welfare Department will ensure that awareness camps are organized at various levels. MLA Sanjay Ratna said people from remote rural areas should not have to make frequent trips to offices, so Tehsil social welfare officials should make arrangements to go to different areas and collect people’s applications etc. Information should also be prepared and ensured that it is provided in the concerned areas so that people can meet the Tehsil Welfare Officers as per the prescribed schedule.

9,687 new social security cases approved

In the current financial year in Kangra district, 9,687 new cases were approved under Social Security Pension, which included 6,720 under Old Age Pension, 233 under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, 97 under National Widow Pension Indira Gandhi, 1943 on Widow’s Pension, Disabled. 688 cases under relief subsidy, two cases of leprosy rehabilitation subsidy have been approved, now social security in Kangra district. The pension will benefit 1 lakh 75 thousand 810 eligible people.

People in the age group of 80 years receive pension at their doorstep.

District level Social Welfare Committee chairman MLA Sanjay Ratna said provision should be made to provide doorstep pension to people above 80 years of age. He said senior citizens cannot reach the post office or bank, so keeping in mind their convenience, departmental officials have been instructed to make proper arrangements to deliver social security pension at their homes.

272 eligible people will receive a subsidy for the construction of homes

District level Social Welfare Committee chairman Sanjay Ratna said that in the current financial year in Kangra district, under the Swarna Jayanti Ashray Yojana, 272 eligible people from castes, tribes and other backward classes will be provided grants for construction of houses, of which 171 scheduled caste people will be given grants of Rs 2 crore 56 lakh, Rs 50 thousand for people for house construction, Rs 30 thousand for the house construction, Rs 30 lakhs for 20 people from Scheduled Tribes for house construction, Rs 1 crore for 81 people from other backward classes. . A grant of 21 lakh 50 thousand rupees will be given.

Disabled students will get a scholarship

MLA Sanjay Ratna said that under the Social Welfare Department, scholarships will be provided to disabled students and for this a budget of Rs 25 lakh has been allocated for Kangra district. He informed that Rs 625 per month for disabled children of classes I to V, Rs 1,875 for residential students, Rs 750 for disabled children of classes VI to VIII and Rs 1,875 for residential students. and residential students Rs 1875 per month for B.Com, similarly Rs 1250 for ten plus one and plus two students and Rs 2500 per month for residential, graduate students. A scholarship of Rs 1875 per month for BE students and Rs 3750 for residential students, Rs 2250 per month for postgraduate students and Rs 3750 for residential students, Rs 3750 for BE, B.Tech and MBBS students and Rs 5000 per month for residential students. will be provided. MLA Sanjay Ratna said that the Social Welfare Department and the Education Department should work in mutual coordination so that no disabled student in Kangra district is deprived of a scholarship.

Organizing free coaching for SC and OBC students.

Arrangements have been made to provide good quality coaching to economically weaker Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class students so that they can participate in competitive examinations. Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes whose total annual family income from all sources is Rs 8 lakh or less will be eligible to receive benefits under the scheme. The list of names of 116 applicants under this scheme from Kangra district has been sent to the Directorate for further action so that training can be arranged for the applicants. MLA Sanjay Ratna said that effective measures should be taken to provide information about the free coaching scheme to college students so that eligible students can avail this scheme. On this occasion, ADC Vinay Kumar, sub-divisional officers of all sub-divisions, district welfare officer Manjul Thakur and Tehsil welfare officer were present.
