Mamata’s party shows its influence again in West Bengal

Counting of votes continues for assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In addition, votes are also counted in the by-elections that take place in many federal states. The Trinamool Congress is once again seen controlling the assembly by-elections in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee’s party is heading towards a huge lead with the 6 seats here.

As in other federal states, the counting of votes began here too at eight in the morning. By-elections are being held for 2 reserved seats as well as 4 other seats in West Bengal. In this, the seat of Sitai is reserved for the scheduled castes and Madarihat for the scheduled tribes. Apart from this, by-elections were held on November 13 in Medinipur, Naihati, Haroa and Taldangra assembly seats.

The Trinamool Congress is ahead in North 24 Parganas region’s Naihati assembly seat and Bankura’s Taldangra assembly seat from the start. TMC continues to lead in Haroa seat as well.

The Medinipur, Madarihat, Sitai, Naihati, Haroa and Taldangra assembly seats are located in the southern region of West Bengal and are considered a stronghold of the Trinamool Congress, while the Madarihat seat is located in the northern part of the state. and is considered a BJP stronghold.

Apart from the TMC, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as well as the CPM-led Left Front and Congress, also contested on different grounds in the by-elections. Both entered the field separately for the first time after 2021.

What’s happening in which seat?

Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC) seat seat But TMC’s Sangeeta Roy leads her nearest rival, BJP’s Deepak Kumar Ray, by a margin of 1,30,636 votes.

Scheduled Tribe (ST) Reservation madarihat seat But TMC’s Jayaprakash Toppo is leading with 28,206 votes, while BJP candidate Rahul Lohar got only 50,602 votes. This seat was won by the BJP in the 2021 assembly elections.

naihati seat But TMC’s Sanat Dey has taken a huge lead by securing 40,663 votes compared to BJP’s Rupak Mitra’s 49,193 votes.

haroa seat But TMC’s SK Rabiul Islam is in the lead. He has so far secured 1,25,958 votes, while his rival Piyarul Islam of the All India Secular Front is trailing by 1,03,144 votes.

medinipur seat But TMC’s Sujoy Hazra emerged ahead with 32,777 votes, ahead of BJP’s Subhajit Roy (Bunty) by a margin of 11,398 votes.

taldangra seat But TMC’s Falguni Singhababu leads with 17,280 votes, who leads BJP’s Ananya Roy Chakraborty by 6,324 votes.
