IPL 2025 Auction: Stage set up in Saudi Arabia, keep an eye on these players, do you know why this auction is special?

The IPL 2025 mega auction action will continue for 2 days in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Every year, there are a few days in the cricket world when fans enjoy tremendous action and excitement from morning to night. Match in Australia or New Zealand in the morning, match in India, Pakistan or England during the day and then match in the West Indies in the evening. Also on Sunday, November 24, there will be shows full of excitement for fans from morning to night. Only the reason will be a little different. From morning to day, the test match between India and Australia will be enjoyed in Perth, but after that the big action will begin, because the mega auction of IPL 2025 will begin. Everyone was eagerly waiting for this auction that lasted for two days and this wait will end on Sunday, November 24.

Ahead of the new season of the world’s largest T20 league, the auction table has once again been prepared, where, in addition to many great, famous and famous cricketers from around the world, the fate of many will also be decided national players. If there is an IPL auction, it will surely rain money. There will be great offers for many players and some unknown players will suddenly become millionaires. Then there will be some who will have a lot of influence in international cricket but will not be questioned here.

Why is this time’s mega auction special?

Although every auction is exciting and interesting for teams, players and fans, this time it is more special than before. The first thing is that on this occasion a mega auction is being organized, which will last 2 days. Through this, players will be purchased for the next 3 seasons. This auction is also special because for the first time its emotion reaches new ground. This auction will be organized in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia over the next two days. Thus, the IPL auction is organized outside India for the second consecutive year. To this end, the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah has become the place where the fate of 577 players will be decided.

Some new rules came before the auction.

This time, the BCCI has also introduced some new rules for the mega auction. For the first time, the board had also given each team the option of retaining 6 players instead of 4 before the auction. Now it was up to the teams to retain the 6 players up front or use the right to match them in the mega auction. Some teams retained all 6 players, but most also left some room for them to match up. This means that this time the hard work and planning of many teams at the auction table can be ruined by other teams through RTM.

Apart from this, this time the board also made it clear that any foreign player will only be able to register for the upcoming mini auction if he has registered himself for the mega auction. In the past few seasons, it has been seen that foreign players used to go to mini-auctions just to get higher bids, something which franchises had complained to the BCCI. In addition, now foreign players, after being sold at the auction, will not be able to suddenly withdraw their names even before the start of the season. Doing this will result in a 2 year ban.

Which players will they watch?

This time, 577 players have bagged a place in the shortlist for the auction, of which the BCCI has kept 12 special players in the pool of star players. These 12 players will be part of two different sets of 6-6. The auction will begin at 3:30 pm Indian time and these 12 players will be the first to be auctioned. Among them, 3 names are the most important, behind which many teams will compete: Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. These 3 big names of Indian cricket are part of the mega auction this time because they were not retained this time.

The highest bid is expected to be made for these three, because all three are captaincy options. Especially in Rishabh Pant, there is a chance to break all the old auction records. It remains to be seen if this happens. Apart from these, players like Jos Buttler, Mohammed Shami, Mitchell Starc, Mohammed Siraj are also part of this team. Apart from these, 42-year-old veteran fast bowler James Anderson is entering the auction for the first time. It will be interesting to see if any team will buy him or not.

How much money and how many players?

Like all mini and mega auctions, this time too the BCCI had increased the amount of franchise auctions. This time, the auction amount increased to 120 million rupees, which will increase the teams’ ability to buy players and the possibility of getting higher prices is also strong. If we talk about the total of the auction, then the 10 franchises have a total of Rs 641 million. At the same time, out of a total of 577 players, there are only a maximum of 204 places available. Although each franchise has the option of preparing a squad of 25 players, it is mandatory to have at least 20 players on each squad. In such a situation, it is difficult to say whether all 204 seats will be filled.
