Winning the by-election in Katehari by a huge vote, Brahmin community leader Sher, former MLA from Purvanchal Indra Pratap Tiwari alias Khabbu Tiwari, is believed to have played an important role in winning the by-election in Katehari. By mobilizing the Brahmins, the former MLA is being considered the king architect of this great victory. From the way the Brahmin voters of the Kathari area of the Legislative Assembly became angry after the BJP candidate’s candidature was finalised, it seemed that the votes of the Brahmin community would not go towards the BJP. All the big leaders of the opposition Samajwadi Party had camped in the Katehri Legislative Assembly to mislead the Brahmins. Opposition leader Mata Prasad Pandey and dozens of leaders, including former minister Tej Narayan Pandey, went to Brahmin-dominated areas across the Kathari region and tried hard to influence the Brahmin vote in favor of the Samajwadi Party, and SP leaders from the Brahmin community were angered for not getting a candidate from their community. While planning to vote for the SP due to its deception, the BJP also fielded veteran leader Baahubali, a former MLA, to save the Brahmin votes. As soon as the former MLA entered the fray, a new energy came to the Katehri Brahmin community and after accepting Khabbu Tiwari’s petition, putting an end to his resentment, he rallied in favor of the BJP and set out to vote. The result was that the BJP candidate won with a record vote.
During the campaign, there was a call for the BJP candidate to win by establishing chaupals in several dozen villages. He had told the people of his community of Katehri area that this election is not about Dharma Raj, this election is about his brother Khabbu Tiwari, this election is about the honor of the nation and the development of Katehri. The Brahmin community increased the respect of the former MLA by voting in favor of the BJP. Former MLA Indra Pratap Tiwari said that this victory is not the victory of Dharamraj and Khabbu Tiwari. This victory is the victory of every voter of the entire Legislative Assembly and the entire Brahmin community. Along with the former MLA, in this victory, former MP Hariom Pandey, AYUSH Minister Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, regional president Kamlesh Mishra, former candidate Awadhesh Dwivedi and former district president Mithlesh Tripathi also played an important role in bring Brahmin voters together on one platform.
