Before Iyer, Tilak Verma, playing for Hyderabad, scored 151 runs in 67 balls against Meghalaya. Tilak Verma is the first batsman in T20 history to score a century in three consecutive matches. Tilak had scored two centuries in the T20 match against South Africa and now scored a hat-trick of centuries in T20 by also scoring a century against Meghalaya.
