The biggest relaunches of 2024

Sohum Shah’s ‘Tumbbad’, directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi, achieved the highest box office collection and ticket sales in India this year among all re-released films. It has now become the highest-grossing re-release film of 2024 in India. The horror cult classic ‘Tumbbad’ was released in 2018. Made on a budget of Rs 5 crore, this film had grossed around Rs 15 crore at the box office at that time. It became a huge success upon its relaunch. In comparison, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rockstar’ earned Rs 10.50 crore, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ earned Rs 2.50 crore and Chiranjeevi’s cult classic ‘Indra’ earned Rs 3.20 crore. rupees. Vijay’s ‘Ghilli’ was the only film that seemed to compete at the re-release box office with a collection of Rs 26 crore, but it is still in the second position.

Tumbbad left these movies in his collection

On Saturday, Filmy View had shared the ticket sales figures of some of the biggest films set to be re-released in India in 2024. This year, six films have sold over one lakh tickets on their re-release. ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, which releases in theaters today, has sold more than 1 lakh tickets, while ‘Rockstar’ has sold 3 lakh tickets. Tickets for ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Murari’ were sold for Rs 2.10 lakh to Rs 2.58 lakh. Vijay’s ‘Ghilli’ is at the second position with 4 lakh tickets, but still far behind the re-release of ‘Tumbbad, which sold 10.25 lakh tickets.
