Mumbai After the assembly elections, the Maharashtra government has made a big announcement. The Maharashtra government has announced immediate allocation of Rs 10 crore to the State Waqf Board. The Minorities Department has issued a government order in this regard. During the election campaign, the BJP had raised concerns over the management of Waqf lands. Now the opposition has also become aggressive in this regard and has taken on the BJP and termed its policy as hypocrisy.
Shiv Sena-UBT Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said there is a fight in Mahayuti, the CM’s name is yet to be decided. They say Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will decide everything. During this period, Rs 10 million was given to the State Waqf Board. On which all politics is made. This is their hypocrisy, that is, hypocrisy.
In fact, following the results of the assembly elections, the Maharashtra government approved funds to increase the functioning and infrastructure of the Waqf Board. The government had allocated a fund of Rs 20 million to the State Waqf Board in the budget, of which the government directed to give Rs 10 million to the Waqf Board. In June, before the elections, the Minority Welfare Department had paid Rs 2 million to the Waqf Board in Aurangabad and announced that the remaining amount would be paid later.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad had opposed this. Mohan Salekar, VHP Konkan region secretary, opposed this move and said, Why is the state government bowing down to Muslims? Why do they appease them? This type of appeasement will not be tolerated. After the VHP protest, BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the money allocated by the state government was for digitization of the Waqf Board. This process was necessary to correct errors. This will help identify lands wrongly acquired from Hindus, tribals and backward classes. There is no question of appeasing any community by the BJP or the state government. All those who accuse the state government must understand the objective and the facts.
