Car companies have started announcing, one after another, price increases for vehicles as soon as the new year begins. Adding to this trend, BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeled unit of German automaker BMW, said on Friday that it will increase prices of all its model ranges by 2.5 percent from January 1, 2025. According to PTI News, the company said in a statement that this change in prices was due to increase in overall input costs and inflationary pressure.
The company’s own logic.
According to the news, the company said that this decision will help ensure BMW Motorrad’s high standards of excellence and profitability in terms of quality, performance and brand experience. The company officially started its operations as the Indian subsidiary of the BMW Group in April 2017. The brand sells a range of premium motorcycles and scooters in the country. BMW Motorrad sells two-wheelers in India, including the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS.
BMW-Mercedes has announced
BMW India has already announced a price hike across its entire range of cars by up to 3 per cent from January next year. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz India had announced that it would increase the prices of its vehicles in India by up to 3 per cent starting next month. At the end of the year, most companies announce increases in vehicle prices in the new year. In addition to these companies, many other car companies will announce price increases in the coming days. Additionally, most companies give the logic behind this as an increase in input cost.
