The Haryana Board of School Education today organized a workshop on the topic of Competency Based Assessment in accordance with the National Policy at the Board premises in collaboration with Education Initiative Z, Ahmedabad, a partner organization in school education. of Education-2020 for the academic session 2025-26.
Around 250 subject matter experts from across the state related to the world of education participated in this workshop and the topic of competency-based assessment was discussed in detail. The program was chaired by Board Secretary Ajay Chopra, HPS Made by. All the experts on the subject present here were received by the Secretary of the Council. Other board officials were also present on this occasion.
Emphasis will be given to proficiency test questions in the board exams.
The board secretary said in his address that the Haryana Board of School Education is rapidly moving towards efficiency-based evaluation in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020 to further raise the standard of education. He said that emphasis will be laid on proficiency testing questions in the board exams so that the board exams do not remain just an exam but also become an extension of the student’s learning process.
Their contribution in the development of students was discussed in detail.
The Board also aims to prepare students for various competitions keeping in mind the requirements of the current competitive environment. The main objective of this workshop was to raise awareness among teachers in the state about competency-based education and assessment. The definition of competency-based assessment, its benefits and its contribution to student development were discussed in detail in the workshop.
