Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Hemant Kumar said Chandra Prakash, 50, lived with her 14-year-old daughter on one floor of a two-storey house located in Katra Wazir Khan in Etmaddaula police station area. His elder brother Indrajeet lives on the upper floor. He said that on Friday morning, his elder brother Indrajit informed the police that his younger brother had poisoned his daughter. He himself has committed suicide.

Police officer Hemant Kumar, citing Indrajit’s complaint, said that he used to go to his younger brother’s house every morning to have tea, but when he reached the ground floor on Thursday morning, he saw that his niece was sleeping. Then he himself came to the kitchen to make tea. As soon as he opened the kitchen door, he saw that his brother Chandraprakash’s body was hanging with the help of a rope.
Foam was coming out of her daughter’s mouth.
Upon hearing the screams, people from the neighborhood also came and together they carried the body down. Kumar said, based on the complaint, Indrajit called his niece and when she did not wake up, he removed the sheet from her and saw foam coming out of her mouth.

He said Chandraprakash’s daughter was disabled since birth. Three years ago, his first wife, Rekha, died of a heart attack. After this he was taking care of his daughter alone. He said Chandraprakash had married Delhi resident Sunita for the second time a year ago, but there was discord between the two. Chandraprakash’s second wife had left here three days ago.
