Jaipur: Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathod received a death threat over phone on Friday and the caller also allegedly abused him. Police said the accused was later arrested from Anupgarh district of Rajasthan. When Rajya Sabha MP Rathore received the call, he was in Delhi.
Rathod said from Delhi that the accused called me and threatened to shoot me. He said as soon as he picked up the phone, the caller started abusing him and told him he would shoot him. He said information regarding the matter has been given to the police.
After the incident, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, BJP state in-charge Radhamohan Das Agarwal and many other BJP leaders contacted Madan Rathod for information about the incident.
Anupgarh Superintendent of Police Ramesh Morya said the accused Hetram has been arrested. Hetram had made the call from the SIM card registered in his son’s name.
The SP said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to having threatened Rathod. He said further investigations are being carried out to find out the reason for the threat.
