Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not been able to be a part of Team India for the last one year. He was injured during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Shami had undergone surgery in February 2024 due to an ankle injury. In such a situation, he had recently returned to the Ranji Trophy field and is now playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. In the midst of this tournament, some bad news has emerged for Shami’s fans. Shami was seen moaning in pain during the match between Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. After which the medical team had to examine him in the middle of the field.
Mohammed Shami’s condition worsened due to pain
Mohammed Shami was injured during Bengal’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh at Ground C of the Niranjan Shah Stadium on Friday. In fact, during this match, he seemed to be in a lot of pain due to a back injury. He had back problems while bowling. He fell while bowling, after which Shami felt uncomfortable and lay on the ground holding his lower back. Which increased everyone’s heartbeat.
Seeing Mohammed Shami suffering, the medical team of the Center of Excellence examined him, during which Nitin Patel, head of the medical panel of the Center of Excellence, was also present on the field. However, after a brief treatment, Shami bowled again and completed his over. According to media reports, Shami may have suffered a slight shock from falling, but it did not cause any serious injury. In such a situation, he will be seen playing more in the tournament.
Possible entry in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Team India is currently on a tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian selectors have accommodated 18 players in the team for this tour. But experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not part of this team. He was hampered by injury since last season and was not fit until the team’s announcement. According to media reports, Shami could be included in the Indian team during this series. Therefore, the medical team at the Center of Excellence is watching over him.
