Shinde may take a big decision on Saturday, will tension increase in the BJP?

Eknath Shinde

Uncertainty over the formation of the new government in Maharashtra is continuously increasing. As Chief Minister Eknath Shinde traveled to his native village Dare, the big and important Mahayuti meeting proposed for Friday has been postponed. On this, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Friday gave a big hint about Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s next decision. He said that whenever the Chief Minister has to consider an important decision, he goes to his native village. Tomorrow afternoon you will make a big decision.

Due to this delay, the new government could not be formed even a week after the declaration of the assembly election results. Shiv Sena sources said this meeting is now likely to be held in Mumbai on Sunday. Meanwhile, BJP leaders said they are waiting for the arrival of central observers for the legislative party meeting.

There was an argument with Shah in Delhi.

Eknath Shinde met Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Thursday evening and discussed the formation of the new government. Shinde described it as positive and expressed hopes for the next round of discussions in Mumbai on Friday. However, according to BJP sources, no Mahayuti meeting was scheduled for Friday. Leaders of the BJP, Shiv Sena and the NCP (Ajit Pawar’s faction) met Shah and JP in Delhi. He had met Nadda and discussed the distribution of power.

Doubts on Shinde becoming deputy chief minister

Differences are emerging within the Shiv Sena regarding Shinde’s role in the new government. Some leaders advise Shinde to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister, while others believe that after serving as Chief Minister for two and a half years, this role will not be suitable for him. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that if Shinde does not take over as Deputy Chief Minister, this post will go to another leader of his party.

Opinion of top Shiv Sena leaders

Shiv Sena leader Shambhuraj Desai said party workers want Shinde to play an important role in the new government. At the same time, Samant said that Shinde is not angry and has left due to health reasons. He also clarified that if they do not meet, the discussion is possible through videoconference.

The swearing-in could take place next week

In the elections to the 288-member assembly in Maharashtra, the BJP won 132 seats, the Shiv Sena 57 and the NCP (Ajit Pawar’s faction) 41 seats. The inauguration of the new government is likely to take place next week. However, the process is being delayed due to power sharing and the ongoing dispute over Shinde’s role. An important decision in this direction may be taken in the meeting proposed by Mahayuti on Sunday.
