Following this incident, the mother of the deceased young man has filed a lawsuit against the chatbot company and Google. During this time, the mother of the deceased has made a big accusation against Google.
I fell in love with the AI character
Megan Garcia, the deceased’s mother, alleged that her 14-year-old son Sevel Setter used to talk to AI character Daenerys Targaryen (Danny). He talked to the chatbot about different topics for several months. During this time, the AI chatbot spoke like a real human being. Sewell fell in love while talking to the chatbot and became estranged from his family. In such a situation, Sewell has become emotionally attached to the AI character. He started to feel more alone in real life. One day, Sewell expressed his desire to commit suicide to the AI character Daenerys Targaryen after becoming bored with life. Upon which the AI character reiterated the idea of committing suicide instead of helping him. In such a situation he committed suicide.
Mother Google accused
Regarding this incident, the deceased’s mother, Megan, filed a murder case against Character and Google, a startup that makes artificial intelligence characters for chatbots. The lawsuit, filed in Florida federal court in Orlando, alleges that Daenerys Targaryen, an AI character based on the Games of Thrones character, behaved like a real person and her lover. While she blamed Google, Megan said that Google has played an important role in creating AI characters. However, regarding this allegation, a Google spokesperson said that Google was not involved in the development of the AI character.
