Bijapur: In Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, five Naxalites, including a Naxalite woman carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh, surrendered before security forces. Giving information about this on Wednesday, police officials said Sushila alias Bujji, member of Aheri Area Committee (ACM) under Gadchiroli Division, surrendered before the security forces. Sushila received a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head. He said that apart from this, four other Naxalites of the district, Sukhram Modiyam, Suddu Korsa, Lakhu Farsa and Sannu Madvi, have surrendered before the security forces.
Between 25,000 and 25,000 rupees given to Naxalites
Police officials said the Naxalites surrendered after being angry with the discriminatory policy, neglect and ideology of the Maoists and influenced by the state government’s ‘Niyad Nella Naar’ (Your Good Village) scheme. He said there are allegations against the surrendered Naxalites of being involved in many other Naxalite incidents, including attack on police team, murder and damaging government property. Police officials said the surrendered Naxalites were given Rs 25,000 cash each under the state government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy.
Naxalites kill villager in Bijapur
In another news, Naxalites killed a villager with a sharp weapon in Bijapur district. Police officials said on Wednesday that Naxalites killed 35-year-old Dinesh Pujari with a sharp weapon in Putkel village near Basaguda police station area of the district. He said that on Tuesday night, a group of armed Naxalites reached Putkel village, killed Dinesh with a sharp weapon and fled from there. Police officials said that after receiving the information, a police team was sent to the spot. The Naxalites had accused Dinesh of being a police informant.
