They also told him that fake ED officers had taken the victim to the Kotak Bank branch in Hauz Khas to withdraw Rs 5 million from his bank account so that this amount could be withdrawn in the name of the ED raid. ‘Fake agents spent the night at the victim’s house’

The agency said they also showed him some checks from his old bank account and the “fake” ED officials threatened to arrest him if he did not give them millions of rupees. According to the agency, the victim told the scammers that the money could only be withdrawn from the bank the next morning, so the fake agents stayed at the victim’s house that night.
‘The accused could not get into the car because the door was closed’
According to the ED, when the thugs took the man to the bank the next day, he “managed” to send a message to his lawyer, who soon arrived at the bank and asked the thugs to show his ID. The ED said: “The fake ED officials suspected they were being trapped and fled before the bank manager could close the door.” ED said that some other goons who were staying at the victim’s house also fled as soon as they heard about the incident at the bank, but they could not take their car as the door of the house was closed.
