Leopard seen at Kukrail, Lucknow
Kukrail in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is one of the favorite picnic spots of the city residents. This area is surrounded by forest. Meanwhile, there is a stir over the news of leopard sighting here. Here a leopard has been seen near the new nursery. As soon as the information was received, the Forest Department team was activated. However, the leopard’s presence has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Forest Department team is busy searching for the leopard in Kukrail forest. The team is also looking for leopard tracks in various places, to find out which areas it has visited. Kamlesh Kumar, Regional Forest Officer (Kukrail Range) of the Forest Department, says no evidence of leopard has been found in the area so far. However, the department has asked the villagers to remain alert. After receiving the information, we have formed separate teams and are combing. So far no marks of this type have been found in the forest, which could demonstrate the presence of leopards in the area.

According to regional forest officer Kamlesh Kumar, the forest is spread over 3,700 acres. Even if there is a leopard in the forest, it will take some time. Different teams of the forest department are busy searching for leopards in the area. No information has yet been received about the leopard attack. However, this news has created an atmosphere of panic among the population.
Where did the information about the leopard sighting come from?
The forest officer said that during night patrolling, the police PRV had reported sighting of a leopard in Kukrail. Since then search operations have continued in the surrounding area. However, this is not the first time a leopard has been spotted in Lucknow. Earlier on December 24, 2021, a leopard was seen roaming around Paharpur and Kalyanpur in Gudamba area of Lucknow. In July 2023, a leopard was seen roaming the same area again.
