India-China disengagement has begun on the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Soldiers from both countries began to withdraw from the Depsang and Demchok areas. Under the agreement, both sides have demolished one tent each and some temporary structures in the area. At Demchok, Indian soldiers retreat to the west of the Charding drainage, while Chinese soldiers retreat to the east, on the other side of the drainage.

Between 10 and 12 temporary structures have been built on both sides and between 12 and 12 tents have been set up on both sides, which will be removed. According to sources, once this process is completed, patrols in Depsang and Demchok are expected to begin in the next 4-5 days. The Chinese military does not have tents in Depsang but has built temporary shelters by placing tarps between vehicles.

According to sources, meetings at the level of local commanders in Depsang and Demchok began on Tuesday. On Wednesday in Demchok a tent was removed from both sides. Some temporary structures were also demolished Thursday. At the same time, on Thursday, Chinese soldiers withdrew some of their vehicles from here. The Indian Army also reduced the number of soldiers coming from here on Thursday.
