In a podcast with ANI, Annu Kapoor said about the 2007 film ‘Chak De India’ that Shah Rukh Khan’s lead character Kabir Khan was based on famous Indian coach Mir Ranjan Negi. But his name was changed in the film and he was given the fictitious name ‘Kabir Khan’.
Annu said, ‘The main character of Chak De India is based on famous coach Negi Saheb. But in India they want to show a good face to the Muslims and make fun of the Pandits. This is a very old idea on which they use the idea of Ganga-Jamuni culture to label it.
