Mohammad Rizwan has been named Pakistan’s new white-ball captain. As soon as he became captain, Rizwan held his first press conference with PCB president Mohsin Naqvi. In this press conference he spoke about his captaincy, the objectives related to it and the internal conflicts of the Pakistan team. Rizwan said that as a captain, he would like to be more of a servant than a king. In Pakistan cricket, fans fondly call Babar Azam the king. Rizwan also got the captaincy in place of king Babar Azam. In such a situation, his statement after becoming captain is considered a direct target against Babar Azam.

I would like to become a ‘servant’ of the Pakistan team, not a ‘king’ – Rizwan

Rizwan said that a leader or captain is one who treats the 15 players in the team as servants instead of thinking like a king. According to him, all the players in the team will be captains on the field. He said that if I, as a captain, start considering myself a king, then nothing good will happen. Therefore, it is necessary that the captain be a server for 15 players.
